- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup Vinegar
- 2 cups Flour
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Ground Cloves
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
- 1/4 cup Butter (melted)
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 pint Apple Jelly
Stir vinegar into milk and set aside. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices. Stir in milk-vinegar mixture, eggs, vanilla and butter. Set aside.
Pour apple jelly into a sauce pan and heat on low, stirring occasionally. Once melted remove from heat.
Ladle pancake batter onto a hot griddle to make 3″ wide pancakes. Repeat until all batter is used. Serve with melted apple jelly in place of syrup.
Tip: If you like to make your own jellies at home and you have a batch that doesn’t quite set up, repurpose it for pancake syrup! It’s delicious. My mom taught me this trick.
